In March 2016, Cures Within Reach held its inaugural CureAccelerator Live! philanthropic pitch event, with a focus on repurposing research in Chicago. Three PIs were selected to present their clinical repurposing trials for up to $50,000 in funding. Following the pitches and Q&A from a panel of expert, attendees selected the winning project: Dr. George Havelka and Darwin Eton, University of Illinois at Chicago “Saving Limbs: Helping Nature Do Its Magic”
