Funding Research Institutions

Cures Within Reach is the only disease-agnostic not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to repurposing approved and available drugs, devices, nutraceuticals and diagnostics to drive more treatments to more patients more quickly. We award funding for innovative, proof-of-concept repurposing research. This allows principal investigators at research institutions to leverage positive data into follow-on funding. In addition, our Impact Awards fund innovative, proof-of-concept projects led by startups (often spinouts from a university) that are commercializing a repurposed treatment, allowing the startup to achieve a value-enhancing milestone.

We prioritize the patient; we support both philanthropic projects, which have little or no commercial value but have critical value to patients, as well as commercial projects, which industry may bring to regulatory approval and then to market.

Cures Within Reach accepts investigator-initiated repurposing research ideas in any unsolved disease from accredited academic and nonprofit research institutions and large group medical practices located anywhere in the world. We have funded research at and/or signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with over 75 research institutions, including those listed below.
